  The office is beautiful, each chair has a TV, the reception staff was friendly and my first hygienist explained everything she was doing before she would do it. Unfortunately, here is where my positive experience ends. At my first visit, Dr. Benton did not even take the time to explain to me what she found other than, "A few cavities." She told me that my "treatment plan" would be reviewed with Vanessa. I was ushered out of the chair to wait for a billing person who was more interested on settling the current bill and scheduling my follow-up than explaining WHY I needed a follow-up. When I asked questions, she did not answer them with any detail. Lead to believe that I desperately needed to get these cavities filled before they got any bigger, I scheduled a follow-up for the following week at 10 am. 4 days prior to my appointment I received a phone call confirming my appointment for 10:15. Then, 2 days prior to my appointment, I received a text message and email confirming my appointment for 10:20. Concerned about the change in times, I called and left a message (who knew no one answered the phone on a Friday?). I did receive 2 calls back, one from Dr. Benton herself, apologizing for the mix-up, encouraging me to come at my original time or whenever was most convenient. By it was all said and done, I received 4 apologies with 3 completely different explanations as to what happened. Getting the fillings was as pleasant as getting fillings could be. Dr. Benton was very receptive to my sensitive teeth and at the first sign of discomfort, gave me more pain relief. However, I waited a lot. One hygienist was responsible for several patients, leaving me waiting on the hygienist to return at several points during this procedure. It was not until the numbness subsided that I noticed rough and even sharp edges to several of my fillings (there were 5 total, at least 3 of which feel rough or sharp). One is so sharp that it is wearing a sore in the inside of my cheek. I am very thankful that I have not yet scheduled appointments for my dentist-wary husband and daughter.
